In addition to standing and admiring the Langdale Pikes from every conceivable angle I did get out and about elsewhere in the Lake District. I decided that I would explore some different places which led me to the Duddon Valley and Dovedale (near Brotherswater).
Langdale Pikes - September 2015
I have just returned from a wonderful week's holiday in the Lake District during which I went on numerous walks and trips and many of them seemed to involve the Langdale Pikes.
Bridlington Sea Fog
After going on a boat trip to photograph gannets I decided that it would be a good idea for our seaside project to focus on one seaside town and capture the different aspects of it. Consequently I chose Bridlington as there appear to be so many areas to explore.
Flamborough Head
The thing I love about Flamborough is that there are so many bays and headlands to explore.
Lake District Holiday - July 2015
I found a wonderful cottage right in the centre of Grasmere which enabled me to embalk on walks right from the front door.
Lake District Sunset
I have just returned from a week's holiday in the Lake District and after a day's walking I ventured out a few times to capture sunset.
Gannets!
At the end of June I signed up for a boat trip to photograph birds off Bempton Cliffs and in particular diving gannets.
Scotland Lochs and Coast
Whilst I love being in the hills and mountains I also adore sitting alongside the sea or any water listening to the waves washing relentlessly against the shore
Scotland Mountains
I adore travelling to Scotland as the mountains, rivers and lochs are on a grander scale than the Lake District and the roads are so quiet and relatively wide.
Hardcastle Crags
Hardcastle Crags has always been on my "go to" list but for numerous, completely spurious , reasons I've never made it.
Le Tour de Yorkshire
Having missed the main event last year I was determined to get into York to see the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire.
Splendid Saltwick Bay Sunset
I have been to Saltwick Bay 3 times and on each visit I sensed that there are wonderful photos to be taken but I've never taken any.
Kettlewell, Yorkshire Dales - Rain, blizzard and sunshine!
The weather during my week was actually fairly dreadful and I was really discouraged to taking to the hills for walks; especially after Keith's fall on Sunday
Kettlewell, Yorkshire Dales - Limestone
Rain. Rain. Rain. Snow. Blizzard. Fleeting sun. Rain. Rain. Sleet. Rainbow!
Kettlewell, Yorkshire Dales - Day 2
Everything was dried out after Saturday's extended paddling so I set off on Sunday to meet the rest of the group for a day's shoot with David Speight et al. Our first port of call was the limestone pavement at the top of Conistone where we were going to explore the views and features
Kettlewell, Yorkshire Dales - Day 1
At last the holiday season has arrived and I set off with great anticipation to Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales.
Whitby in February - 22 February 2015
After a wonderful weekend in November I decided to return to the same apartment for a break in February. All things considered it wasn't the best time to visit with the intention of photographing Saltwick Bay as the tides weren't compatible with sunrise and sunset and the weather forecast for Sunday was only 1 grade short of Armageddon.
York Resident Weekend - 31 January 2015
York Residents’ Festival is our chance to explore the city and be a tourist for the weekend – for free! It is organised by Visit York in partnership with the City of York Council, this annual Festival is their way of saying ‘thank you’ for the warm welcome given to York’s 7 million visitors.
Robin Hood's Bay Sunset - 17 January 2015
The weather forecast for much of the UK was complete rubbish but the Yorkshire coast appeared to be exempt from all the doom and gloom. So off I set. I drove through lots of clag and grot on the North Yorkshire Moors but my first sight of the Whitby coast basking in sunshine actually lifted my soul.
Peak District - 31 December 2014
One last Hurrah was required to see out 2014. I have really enjoyed my photography this year and I have been relatively successful in my small way in developing my skills and publishing my work for critique and for sale.
