One last Hurrah was required to see out 2014. I have really enjoyed my photography this year and I have been relatively successful in my small way in developing my skills and publishing my work for critique and for sale.
I was invited to go on a photo shoot in the Peak District which was too good an offer to decline, especially as it is an area that I don't know at all. (I did walk the Pennine Way starting in Edale 35 years ago) but of course I can't remember any of the landscape or topography at all.
We met at 7.00am ready to walk up Mam Tor for sunrise (fabulous) before retiring for breakfast. We then relocated to Higger Tor where we experienced some wonderful, moody light before finishing up at Stanage Edge for sunset. Things fell apart a bit here as the cloud completely scotched the idea of a spectacular sunset to see out 2014 so we had to pack up early and slither back down to the road.
I love the area and will definitely return later in the year. It was a fairly perilous experience as my study walking boots were completely unsuitable for the snow and ice that was prevalent on the paths and rocky paths and tops. I lost count of the times that I fell over with the result that my legs were waving in the air like a tortoise. Fortunately there were plenty of people about to pull me to my feet once they had stopped laughing.
