#Cumbriaisopen

On Sunday 21 February Mark Littlejohn and Doug Chinnery organised a Photography Charity Fundraiser in aid of the Cumbria Flood Appeal.  I was fortunate enough to secure a place on one of the walks.  It was a gentle ramble from Glenridding up to Lanty's Tarn and Keldas with Russ Barnes, Mark Littlejohn and Colin Bell.

Whilst the weather was dreadful the occasion was great and I enjoyed every minute although my umbrella caused a few amusing and embarrassing moments.  I had been up to Lanty's Tarn once before, a few years ago but there was very little water in it.  When  we arrived on  Sunday it was full  and the rain added lots of saturation to the scene.

The mountains were covered in snow and the low cloud added lots of layers to the vistas.  I had my small Canon Powershot G5X with me as I reckoned that I had a good chance of both keeping it dry and water off the lens.

It was fun to discuss images with the experts and I was certainly provided with plenty of food for thought for the future.  The event was a huge success and raised almost £20,000 and emphasised the fact that #cumbriaisopen. Definitely!
