Sheringham Promenade

The workshop run by Jon Gibbs was based in a wonderful cottage in Sheringham and was only a stone’s throw from the promenade. Consequently we paid a few visits to the sea front at different times of day with different weather conditions.

I also had the added variation that my 15-45 mm zoom lens decided to stop playing as required and despite my best efforts to close in on subjects it would immediately zoom back out to become a 15 mm prime lens. On the last morning of the workshop I got out my big 70-200 mm lens and enjoyed closing into the features on the shore to take some detail and abstract photographs. (The lens is now fixed courtesy of Fujifilm UK who gave me instructions on how to reset everything).

It was a good place for photography as there were some posts in the sea, lots of rocks and ramps and steps for the water to swoosh around. There was also minimal chance of being swept away by lively waves which is always a good thing!
