On a wet day in November I was determined to get out and enjoy the last of the autumn show before all the leaves were battered and destroyed by the winds and rain.
I visited a woodland I had visited last year but as the road to my usual parking place was flooded I had to approach the wood from a different place. This turned out to be a stroke of genius as there were lots of deciduous trees amongst the pines and lots of fog to make the whole area really mysterious and atmospheric. I never reached my usual spot in the wood but that was no problem whatsoever as I loved where I was and am already looking forward to my return next year.
