On impulse I decided to investigate weather conditions at Saltburn with a view to wandering around on the beach looking for reflections and shapes in the sand.
The runes were very promising with showers forecast and a low tide late morning. This would allow for a a couple of hours on the beach with fish and chips to follow for late lunch.
I was thrilled when I arrived to see that sand was full of water but the showers were falling from various shades of deep grey and no breaks were visible in the clouds. Perhaps I should have put my waterproof trousers in the car.
Anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained so I trotted down to the beach and I have to say that I had a wonderful time. Yes, my legs got wet but they dry quickly and the details in the sand and eventually small bits of light in the clouds more than made up for my trouser forgetfulness.
These photographs are my favourites from the morning and I felt that my fish and chips were well earned.
