With a sunny springlike day forecast after the stresses of Storm Doris I ventured forth to Scarborough. My plan was to walk along the seafront to enjoy the sunshine and after a bite of lunch I wanted to head to the old lido beyond Scarborough Spa for some long exposure photography. I arrived an hour before high tide and I thought I was going to have to wait for conditions to be right for what I wanted to capture but in the event my timing was perfect.
The sea was fairly lively and as high tide time was approaching the waves were washing over the seawall and then streaming back into the sea via the drainage holes in walls. This made for some really interesting effects and patterns and I enjoyed an hour of photography before I had to beat a hasty retreat before being cut off from the promenade.
