In the March issue of Outdoor Photographer we were invited to submit photographs from extreme locations. There was a joke that I’d never been to anywhere extreme but I have proved my doubters to be wrong.
One of my submitted photographs was a runner-up by the magazine. I was on the west coast of Alaska last year and I took a seaplane flight over the glaciers near Juneau. The scale and setting of them is amazing and I managed to capture their grandeur in quick photos from the plane. This was my favourite as I can see the full length of the glacier and its setting in the mountains. It is also possible to see the blue ice in the crevasses.
