After parking in Pateley Bridge I set off on a walk up the hill and around Guisecliffe Woods before returning along the River Nidd. It was a lovely walk and I discovered that paying careful attention to the map enabled me to reach areas I’d never previously encountered!
Whilst enjoying the views on the top of the cliff section my favourite part of the walk was undoubtedly my stroll through the woodland and around the tarn. It was a reasonably sunny day so shafts of light pushed their way though the canopy but even when it was cloudy the light was soft and inviting.
It is definitely a woodland worth many visits.
